Obituary

LTC Max E. Tadlock, U.S. Army Retired, passed on November 14, 2020.  He is survived by his wife Judy Miller Tadlock; four sons, Rod, Tim, Greg and Chris; daughter Teresa Tadlock; brother Marvin Tadlock and sister Donna Oehlert.  Max was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Max had a great love for his country and served in the Korean was with 1 st Bn., 9 th RTC and in the Vietnam war he commanded Btry. D, 1 st Bn., 5 th Arty. (Alexander Hamilton's Cannoneers)  He earned two Purple Hearts, one in each war, and was awarded two bronze stars plus many other honors.

Upon retirement he continued to serve fellow soldiers as Commander for the State of California Military Order of the Purple Heart for two terms.  He was active in WA, MOAA, ROA, VFW and DAV taking many leadership roles over the many years.  He also enjoyed helping design plaques for Mt. Soledad Memorial in San Diego.

His journey through life left footprints of kindness, courage and compassion.

Due to COVID-19, Military services at Miramar National Cemetery will be limited.  A celebration of his life will be held this spring or summer when we can all gather together again.
