It is with a heavy heart to announce that Mia Sanchez Castro has passed away on February 11th, 2025. Born on November 4, 2008, she lived a fulfilling life of wonder, love, and joy.

When it comes to Mia's hobbies or interests, she had a refined platter. Some mightsay a whole buffet. Mia loved to read. Whether it was comic books, her favorite Harry Potter series, or trying out a new genre, Mia always welcomed a new story. She was an avid gamer; Mia would religiously play Splatoon by herself and with her sisters whenever a big event happened in the game. She also loved playing Fortnite, duoing up with her younger sister or going as a full squad with her older sisters included. There's a myriad of other games she herself enjoyed playing, but one thing is certain: she had fun every time. Mia was an avid enjoyer of K-Pop as well. Whenever her favorite group or singer released a new song or album, she would always keep herself updated on the release dates and listen to said song or album the minute it was released. She enjoyed the genre of music so much that she built her own personal collection of albums by her favorite artists and had a playlist ready to go for trips. Mia was also passionate about the arts. She regularly volunteered at the Artwalk whenever possible, talked with the local artists about their work, purchased their works, drew in her sketchbooks and was looking forward to attending an art university after graduation just like her older sisters.

As a person, Mia was much more than what meets the eye. She was a devoted student to her academics, staying up late nights to finish her schoolwork. As a 4.0 student, she was always on top of her game regarding her classes and would always seek out academic help if she had trouble understanding a subject. She loved to give back to her community and would devote her time to becoming a volunteer who would give it her best, no matter how easy or difficult the task was. Also, Mia was blessed with many wonderful people in her life. She had amazing friends during her lifetime. She was always available for her friends, supporting them in their times of need and being overall a pleasant person to be around. She was also blessed with having a network of adults who supported her during her journey: from teachers who cared about her academic achievements to her parents who always supported and encouraged her growth. ia was never alone in her path, and always knew someone whom she could rely on. Mia loved spending time with her sisters. With her older sisters, Mia could always go to them if she needed additional assistance with her schoolwork or finding community service. Just like any pair of siblings, they had their own thing going on, and they would find comfort in each other in both the good and tough times. With her younger sister, she was the perfect role model: someone who never gave up despite being given the impossible and having a heart of gold. There would not be a single day where they would not play a couple minutes together. Even when their older sisters left for university, their bond stayed the same and grew even stronger by the day. In the end, all her sisters loved her the same, and were her best friend. She was a determined person, who would pour her heart and soul into achieving any goal she set herself up to. She always had a profound sense of humor, her laughter was very contagious, and her way of joking would even make her serious older sister laugh.

Mia was truly kind and caring. She always looked out for others and would comfort those when they had a difficult day. While she may no longer be with us, her legacy of kindness and devotion to her community and family shall be immortalized by the actions she took throughout her lifetime. Let us celebrate Mia's life by being the best version of ourselves each day.

Cuando se trata de pasatiempos o intereses de Mia, ella tenía un plato refinado. Algunos dirían que todo un buffet. A Mía le encantaba leer. Ya fueran cómics, su serie favorita de Harry Potter o probar un nuevo género, ella siempre agradecía una nueva historia. Mia era una jugadora apasionada; ella jugaba religiosamente Splatoon sola y con sus hermanas cada vez que ocurría un gran evento en el juego. También le encantaba jugar Fortnite, séa que ella formaba un dúo con su hermana menor o formaba un equipo de cuatro con sus hermanas mayores incluidas. Hay muchos otros juegos que a ella le gustaba jugar, pero una cosa es segura: siempre se divirtió. Mia también disfrutaba música, especialmente K-Pop. Mia nunca estuvo sola en su camino y siempre conocía a alguien en quien podía confiar. A Mia le encantaba pasar tiempo con sus hermanas. Con sus hermanas mayores, Mia siempre podía preguntarles por ayuda a ellas si necesitaba ayuda con sus tareas escolares o para encontrar servicio comunitario. Al igual que cualquier par de hermanos, tenían sus propias cosas y encontraban consuelo en unas a otras tanto en los momentos buenos como en los malos. Siempre tuvo un profundo sentido del humor, su risa era muy contagiosa y su forma de bromear hacía reír incluso a su seria hermana mayor.
