Michael Ray Goode July 25 1957 - June 26, 2022
Michael Goode, a loving husband, father, and brother lost his battle with cancer. Michael was born in
Bay City, Texas on July 25, 1957. He was the first born to Raymond and Dorothy Goode {Neddermeyer}
Michael moved to San Jose, Ca when he was 19, where he continued his education and started his first
job career as a computer design draftsman. Then he went on working for GTE Communications Systems
as the Fiber Optic Head Designer. A couple years of that, he was transferred and promoted supervising
a group of designers and engineers in Albuquerque, New Mexico a GTE division, there he met the love of
his life, Tita, and married her. His career then took him to Santa Barbara Research Center, a division of
Hughes Aircraft, managing a group of engineers. At the same time, he continued his education at Santa
Barbara City College where he got his bachelor's degree in engineering. While at Santa Barbara
Research, NASA awarded him a patch and certificate for the successful launch of Mars Observer. In
1997 his daughter Savanah Michele was born, the happiest time of his life. Throughout his daughter's
life, he spent weekends taking her to tennis tournaments that started at the age of ten. He was very
proud of her for receiving a tennis scholarship at the college she attended. He loved the annual ski trip
that him and his family spent in Lake Tahoe and the Hawaii summer trip. In 1996 he got a job in San
Diego at Cadence Design Systems where he worked and spent the last 26 years of his life. He loved his
job and the satisfaction of solving a problem and did a lot of mentoring to a few young engineers that
were just starting their careers. Michael loved to travel to different places he hadn't been to with his
wife and enjoyed the different cultures. He loved to cook with his famous chile, jambalaya, gumbo and
his cornbread that Savanah loves. He loved the outdoors and spent a lot of his off time working on his
projects at home. He was an idea man, always creating and building. He also enjoyed being a member
of the City of Lake Poway's Park Ranger Reserves. He would be called on occasions on some weekends
and days off for whatever needed attention. Michael was predeceased by his parents and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, daughter and his three siblings.
