Michael Joseph Siano, age 67, of Poway, entered into rest Tuesday morning, June 30, 2020, in Escondido CA, with his wife and daughters by his side.  He was born December 5, 1952, in Pittsburgh PA, the only son of the late Theodore and Theresa Siano.

Michael is survived by his wife of 47 years, Deborah Siano of Poway CA.; their two daughters and sons-in-law Traci & HM1 (FMF) R.D. Nay Jr. US Navy (Ret.) and Jennifer & David Bean of Las Vegas, NV.; six grandchildren, Taylor, Jeffrey, Trevor, Tyler, Bailey and Mikaela.; one sister Constance (Mike) Smeyres of Escondido CA.; and one nephew Germain Smeyres of Escondido CA. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Michael is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served honorably in the Navy for 9 years, achieving the rank of Petty Officer 1 ^st Class.  Michael's experience in the Navy played a very important role in his life. He frequently pointed out that the Navy taught him the values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. After his service he continued to invest in a cause larger than himself. He built custom guitars where he donated and auctioned them to benefit disabled veterans across the country. He would often explain to loved ones how these values contributed to his desires to continue helping veterans of all services.

He was a member of the Poway VFW Post #7907. In his free time, he enjoyed carpentry, working on cars and anything using his hands. His most treasured joys were his grandchildren. He was so proud of each one of them.

A committal service with full military honors will be held at 9:30am, Friday July 10th at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.  Michael's four grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
