Nancy Lou Kohler passed away in Poway, CA on January 23, 2019.  She was born December 11, 1947 in Cleveland, OH to Russell & Florence Nielsen.  Nancy was 71 years old.

Nancy graduated from University of Kentucky and worked as a hospital dietician for more than 30 years.  She opened Pomerado Hospital in 1977 as the Director of Food and Nutritional Services. After retiring from hospitals she worked for JC Golf. Scheduling tee times and coordinating the golf membership program. Nancy had a love for deep sea fishing, travel, and golf. With a soft spot in her heart for dogs. She considered Cabo her second home and would visit once if not twice a year for the past 15 years. Painting pottery in Cabo, visiting with friends and eating Mexican food were her favorite past times there.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Kohler Tone of Murrieta, CA; son and daughter-in-law Ryan & Jaclene Kohler of Rancho Bernardo, CA; grandchildren, Stella, Sadie & Rylie and brother and sister-in-law James & Stephanie Nielsen of North Carolina. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2009.

A funeral mass celebrated by Monsignor Dennis Mikulanis will be at 9:30am, Monday, January 28, 2019 at San Rafael Parish in Rancho Bernardo.  Interment will follow at Dearborn Memorial Park.
