Neal Edward Macurda passed away January 6, 2022 in San Diego, CA.  He was 95 years old.  Neal was born in Los Angeles, CA on March 11, 1926 to Malcom & Ethel Macurda.

Neal earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Los Angeles.  In 1944 he was inducted into the United States Army as part of the 11 ^th Airborne unit and was a proud veteran.  Neal was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a 32 ^nd degree Mason with the Scottish Rite, belonging to the Amity Lodge #442 in San Diego.  Neal enjoyed traveling and visited many foreign lands.  He and his late wife Betty sailed around South America and had many stories to share.  His biggest joy was being a grandpa to his five grandchildren and 4 great-grandkids.  He loved his family more than anything.

He is survived by his children Douglas (Stephanie) Macurda of Bishop, CA., Laurel Land of Laguna Niguel, CA., Laurence Macurda of Grants Pass, OR., and Kimberly (Samuel) Clark of Anaheim Hills, CA.; grandchildren Malachi, Beth, Doug Jr., Scott & Arthur and great-grandchildren Esher, Amelia, Cade and Blayke.

A memorial service with military honors is pending.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 909 S. Fair Oaks Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105.
