Olive Marion Cheeseman (nee Richardson) was born in southeast London on April 17, 1930. She passed away peacefully on June 28, 2022 after valiantly fighting chronic medical complications and receiving great care.  She wasn't your average mother and homemaker. As a kid she loved and adored her quiet, gentle and fun loving family. She grew up loving to perform – dancing ballet, acting, singing which led to a lifelong interest in the arts. After some initial struggles as an evacuee and nursing her mother in her teens, she started her working life to make up for lost time. She met her soulmate early and they set their eyes on exploring the world voraciously – starting in Paris with stops in South Africa, Minnesota, Argentina, Belgium and Ireland. Olive excelled at a lot of things and never gave herself enough credit. She learned languages flawlessly, organized complex logistics around world, shadowed global cooks to learn to whip up gourmet meals and sewed her own statement pieces. She loved the outdoors including dragging her soulmate hiking and some friendly competition on the golf course and tennis courts. During retirement, Olive and Alan moved near their beloved British group in Arizona and later found a new favorite British related group in San Diego.

Olive was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Alan Cheeseman. She was also predeceased by her sister, Gladys Plumb. She is survived by her daughter Ann Cheeseman, her son in law George Menninger. her grandson Alan and her nephews Alan and Colin Plumb.

The family will have a memorial service on Wednesday, July 20th at 2pm PST at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary, 13243 Poway Road, Poway, CA 92064
