Hai "Pete" Dang was a vibrant, energetic, and loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Pete will always be remembered for his contagious laughter and vivacity. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2018, Pete faced his illness with bravery, a smile, and a big thumbs-up. He passed from this world at the age of 63 on September 18, 2021.

Pete was born on July 10, 1958 in Saigon, Vietnam to Ban and Bon Dang. At the age of 19, he and his family escaped Vietnam and settled in San Diego. He met the love of his life and soulmate, Monica, at a picnic in Orange County, and they got married on December 30, 1989. Together, they had two children: Brandon and Annaliese. Pete was most often seen watching sports, playing with his dogs, cycling, or travelling the world with his family.

To celebrate his life, a funeral service is scheduled for September 30, 2021 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to San Diego Food Bank or Father Joe's Village on Pete's behalf.
