Peter Alan Young was born in Syracuse, NY on April 29, 1936.  He was the oldest of four children born to Imelda and Charles Young.  He passed away on September 24, 2019 in San Diego at the age of 83.  His career path was in the music business, including the sales, purchasing and distribution of records, tapes, CDs and videos.  Although he retired to San Diego in 1997, he began a second career working for the City of San Diego in the Library system.  He eventually retired in 2010 and focused on travelling, volunteering at the library and the ER department at Pomerado Hospital. He played a mean "air guitar," had a great smile and laugh, loved people, especially his family and had a passion for cooking. Although mainly of Irish dissent, his favorite food was Italian.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol Allen Young of San Diego, CA, 5 children, Gregory Young (Collette), Tracey Daley (Kevin), Scott Young, Lisa Young (Chris), Matthew Young (Liz), and 6 grandchildren: Joseph, Christopher, Maille, Siobhan, Maggie and Vaughn.  He also leaves behind his brothers Charles and Kevin and his sister Margaret. There were no plans for a funeral but the family hopes that you remember the good times and great memories you shared with Peter Allan Young.
