Services will be held for Mr. Robert R. Holmes who entered into rest Tuesday, February 25, 2020.  He was 91.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan in 2019.  He is survived by children; Mary Anne Jones (Gregory), Kathryn Webber, Robert Holmes ( Meghan) and 11 grandchildren.

He had been a scientist for over 44 years, teaching and researching.  He was a member of the American Chemical Society and wrote many technical journals and books.  He enjoyed painting, sailing, being a world traveler, the beauty of New Hampshire and 'tinkering' on projects.  He treasured his time with his family most of all.

Viewing will be held Thursday, March 5, 4-8 pm, at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary Chapel, 13243 Poway Rd., Poway, CA.  A funeral mass will be held Friday, March 6, 2020, 1:30 PM at St. Gregory the Great, 11451 Blue Cypress Dr., San Diego, CA, 92131.
