Robert "Bob" John Scheeler Jr. passed away in San Diego, CA, on October 23, 2021, at 65 years old, following a valiant journey with cancer. Devoted husband of 34 years to Cheryl Scheeler and father to Chelsea Scheeler of Salem, MA.
Bob was born to Robert and Marjorie Scheeler in Casper, Wyoming, on December 17, 1955. Bob graduated from Kelly Walsh High School and enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country for 30 years, retiring as Command Master Chief. After military retirement, Bob worked for 15 years at LPL Financial as a Service Trading and Operations Manager. His military and civilian roles showcased his exceptional leadership; he truly brought out the best in everyone he worked with.
Bob was a devout catholic, serving as a lector and usher at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Scripps Ranch. He was an active member of the Free Masons, serving as Marshall and receiving the Hiram Award in 2018.
Bob was a world traveler; he enjoyed playing golf, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and always quick with a witty joke or story. His biggest love was spending time with his family and friends and enjoying an occasional cocktail on Sunday nights.
Along with his wife and daughter, he is survived by his sister Kristen (Brad) Shelly of South Dakota and brother Joseph (Kathy) Scheeler of Utah. Bob's charisma and optimism is felt beyond family and friends; he will be greatly missed. " Fair Winds and Following Seas."
A memorial mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 10:00am. Inurnment with military honors will occur at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 9:00am.
In place of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children in Bob Scheeler's name.
