Robert Dwayne
Stabler
July 22, 1936 – April 12, 2023
Robert ("Bob") Dwayne Stabler passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023, at his home in Poway. He was able to live the rest of his life in his home with the love and support of his family and his team from Elizabeth Hospice (Ju, Ron, Alma, and Malu).
Bob was born in Peru, Kansas on July 22, 1936, to Floyd and Lela Stabler. He joined the military and met his loving wife Jan and the two were married in 1961 and went on to have two children (Steven and Christine). Bob's time in the service brought the family to California, where they would eventually settle in Poway in 1972. Bob was an avid golfer and was able to golf around the world during his time in the service. Bob also loved the Padres and enjoyed attending games, especially with his great-grandson Sean. He was a quiet man that loved his family and would protect them with every fiber of his being. He will truly be missed…
Bob is survived by his loving daughter Christine Mullin, his three granddaughters Stephanie Martin, Samantha Cherwa, and Sarah Stabler, a grandson-in-law Sean Martin, great-grandson Sean, Jr., and his sister Donna Tadlock. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd (1985), his mother Lela (1970), his loving wife Jan (2000), his son Steven (2002), and his brother-in-law Tom (2007).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Elizabeth Hospice in the name of Bob, as the family would not have been able to care for him at home without their capable care and support."
