On Thursday, March 21, 2019, Rosendo Costello Villaruz, loving husband and father of 5 children, passed away at the age of 90. Rosendo was born on March 1, 1929 in Tangcarang, Alaminos City,Philippines. He joined the US Navy in 1953 and served our country for 23 years as a Dental Technician.
He had three children, Arthur, David, and Carolyn with Angelina (deceased). On October 25, 1970 he married Norma Camero and had two sons, Rosendo Jr and Darwin.
Rosendo had a passion for gardening, cooking, dancing, and fishing. His cooking with vegetables from his garden was admired by his family and friends. His signature dish to make was Papaitan and Dinaguan. He also loved playing Poker with his Compares and had the nickname, "Poker King". His favorite basketball team was The Golden State Warriors and he enjoyed watching them with his wife on the television. His love of music spanned many decades. However, his great love was the Big Band Era of Glenn Miller. "In the Mood" was his favorite song. Every Family party, Rosendo was always on the dance floor dancing the night away with his wife Norma. Rosendo's favorite pastime was playing slots at Valley View Casino in which he visited frequently. He was known for always smiling and his kind, peaceful spirit.
