Stanley Edwin
Ozenbaugh
May 31, 1957 – July 19, 2023
Stan Ozenbaugh (66) passed away on July 19, 2023, with his family by his side. His determination and immeasurable love for his family carried him through to live as many happy years as his body would allow.
Stan was born in Oceanside, CA on May 31, 1957, to Stan and Marilyn Ozenbaugh. Stan, affectionately called 'Bud', lived in many parts of the world while his father served in the Air Force before moving into their permanent residence in Poway, CA. Stan graduated from Poway High School in June of 1975. He later obtained higher level degrees in Computer Electronics and Business Management.
Stan was blessed with an incredibly loving family. He married the love of his life and soulmate, Jan Zugay, on April 18, 1987. Stan and Jan raised two wonderful children, Anna and Samuel, and have been blessed with one beautiful grandson, Alden William. Stan was a loving husband, a devoted father, an incredible grandfather, and a thoughtful friend.
Stan retired after a successful career of 42 years at NCR/Teradata. He started as a computer technician, promoted to software engineer, and eventually led teams as an engineering manager. He was dedicated to the company's success and showed immense care for those he worked with.
Stan had a huge heart and a kind soul that emanated through his many passions including time with his family, helping friends & neighbors, and volunteering for many organizations with Jan. He loved working on cars, water skiing, golfing, gardening, wine tasting, playing cards with friends, and traveling to see his kids and grandson. In his final months he had the joy of owning and driving a 1967 Chevy Camaro, the same model he and his dad worked on when he was 19.
Stan is forever remembered by his wife Jan, his children Anna and Samuel, his mother Marilyn, and his siblings Greg, Connie, and Brad. Stan is predeceased by his father Stan and his brother Kevin.
Stan's Celebration of Life will be held at Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am, Saturday July 29, 2023, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to PowPAC at powpac.org.
