Sylvia Alice Whitmarsh passed away on January 6, 2025, two days after her 106th birthday. She was born on January 4, 1919, in Glendo, Wyoming, where she spent her entire childhood growing up on the family ranch. Syliva was very devoted to her family, always serving and supporting each person through hospitality, gifts, kind words, and affection. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her classy style and hospitable personality will be remembered by all who have known her. She lived life to the fullest and entertained many with stories of growing up on a ranch, navigating marriage and family life with two young children during the war, and finding success in hard work and integrity.

Although Sylvia is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynette Kempton; her grandchildren, Russel Whitmarsh and wife Lynne, Kellyn Wheaton and husband James, Kristine Cordell and husband Thomas, Koreen Kempton, Karyn Kempton, and Joseph Kempton Jr. and wife Brandi; 18 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, John Edgar Whitmarsh; son, Ronald Dean Whitmarsh; grandson, Michael John Whitmarsh; and son-in-law Joseph Lee Kempton.
