August 6, 1944 – February 14, 2020
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Thomas Dewey Bongiovanne, our loving and devoted husband, father and friend to all whose lives he touched, on February 14, 2020.
He left us unexpectedly after surgery due to heart failure at Scripps Green in San Diego, CA. He was 75 years old. He was born in Chicago, IL on August 6, 1944. He served in the Army from Dec 1965 to July 1967. He was a member of the Poway VFW Post 7907.
Tom loved music. It was his life's passion. He started playing in bands in his early teens and played at the North County Veteran Stand-down the day before his surgery.
He met his loving wife, Annette Scott, in El Cajon at a local club on Aug 6th, 1981 when he was celebrating his birthday. They were married the following year.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Annette, beloved father of Doreen Myers and Shari Miskulin and stepfather of Shane Makell and George Conomos JR. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grand-kids. He is also survived by his brother Richard Allen Bongiovanne and sister Patricia Lee Ledesma.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; Fred Bongiaovanne and Ona Bryant.
He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
