Tommie June McLellan passed away in University City on December 16th, 2018. She was 92. She was born on August 8th, 1926 in Topeka Kansas to Thomas & Leona McKinley.
Tommie moved to San Diego when she was 16. She enrolled in San Diego High School where she met her future husband and developed strong friendships that lasted her entire lifetime. She attended SDSU and worked as an executive assistant to Walker Scott who owned a department store in Downtown San Diego.
Tommie loved to dance, travel, make scrapbooks and most of all spend time with her family.
She was a member of the Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church and was actively involved in P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) for more than 35 years.
Tommie loved people and showed a genuine interest in everyone she met. She was a loving, caring woman who also had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her sons Brad of San Diego CA and Ron of Truckee CA; sister and brother-in-law Beverly & Arthur Brown of El Cajon, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband F. Max McLellan in September 2012.
A memorial service will be held at Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church on Saturday January 12th at 2pm. A private inurnment will take place at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to the Macular Degeneration Association or any veteran organization of your choice.
