Tyler Jacob
Christenson
August 28, 1986 – March 24, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle, Tyler Christenson. He left us far too early, but we are grateful for the 37 years he shared with us. We, as his family, will miss him immensely but are thankful to be left with so many wonderful memories.
His wit and wry sense of humor made many a family gathering more fun. His laughter was contagious. And he left us with many "Tyler – isms" that will remain with us forever.
He was creative and fearless when it came to his entrepreneurial spirit. That kid started his first online business at the age of 9 selling the ever-popular Beanie Babies. He went on to create several more successful businesses in his short time here. One thing he was known for was his relentlessness in identifying cutting-edge solutions to any business challenge he encountered.
But nothing compared to his love for his family. There was no one that loved his mother more or honored the wisdom and guidance provided by his dad. There was also no one more thoughtful and kind then Tyler. When you were hurt, he hurt with you, when you were wronged, he was ready to stand up and fight for you, when you were happy, he gleefully shared in your joy. And no one spent more time picking out the most perfect gift for each family member – needless to say his gifts were the ones we all wanted to open first.
We will miss his voice, his sense of humor and his presence, yet his spirit and memories will remain with us always.
He will be missed by many, but by his family most of all. He is survived by his mother and father, Joe and Patty Christenson, his sister Kelly Myers and her husband Jim, his brother Ryan Christenson and his wife Bianca, his brother John, and his nieces and nephews, Jack, Sam, Cole, Myla, and Natalia, as well as all our extended family.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 15th at St. Michael's Church at 15546 Pomerado Road, Poway, CA 92064. The service will begin at 10:30am. A gathering will take place after the service in the St. Michael's Holy Family Center. All are welcome to join in remembering and celebrating Tyler's life.
In loving memory of Tyler and his incredible bravery in the challenges he faced, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the LGBTQ organization OutRight International
