Bill McKibbin, a long time Poway resident, passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Bill was born in Lemon Grove to Liland and Shirley Mckibbin. Later his family moved to the L.A. area. He attended College of the Desert where he played football and later received his contracting license.

He and Suzanne, a high school classmate, married on June 23, 1973. His work later brought them back to the San Diego area, where he and his family settled in Poway, building their dream home on Iron Mountain.

Coaching youth soccer was a passion for Bill, he ultimately became president of the Poway Vaqueros Soccer Club. He was later drawn into volunteering at the Poway Elks and helped to create the Poway Veterans Organization or PVO. Not a veteran himself, but so admired those that were, it became his life's work.

Bill is survived by his wife Suzanne; a son Christopher; a daughter Casey; a sister Connie; a brother Al and grandsons Maxwell, Jackson and Bennett.
