William (Bill) Walter Hirsch of Escondido, CA, died on March 29, 2022, at the UCSD Medical Center in La Jolla, CA. He was the son of Walter and Janette Hirsch, and was born on July 21, 1963, in Washington, DC. He graduated from Rockville High School in Rockville, MD, and earned a B.A. in Political Science from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio in 1985. Bill was active in Boy Scouts through high school, and continued hiking, biking, canoeing, and cave exploring with his scout friends as a young man. He was employed as a systems analyst with the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, DC for 12 years. In 1997, Bill moved to Connecticut to live with his parents. Bill moved to his own apartment in Escondido, CA in 2012 to be close to his sister Nancy, and her family. He had a large book collection (particularly philosophy), and enjoyed music of all genres, especially rock 'n roll. Like most Hirsches, Bill loved driving, and good food. He is survived by his parents, Walter and Janette Hirsch of San Diego, CA, and his sister Nancy (John) Peterson of Escondido, CA, two nieces, Jennifer (John) Peterson and their daughter Julia, and Jessica Peterson all of San Diego, CA. A memorial service will be held at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Poway, CA, on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 10am.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mental Health Systems ( https://www.mhsinc.org/donate/ ) or a charity of your choice.
