William Vincent "Bill" Tortorich, 91, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, in San Diego, California.

Born on February 4, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, Bill lived a life defined by service, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to his country. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, he served with distinction for 34 years across active duty, the National Guard, and the Reserves. Rising to the rank of Master Sergeant, he served from 1953 to 1957 and again from 1962 to 1992 in Riverside, California. His military career was one of his greatest honors, reflecting his deep sense of duty and camaraderie with his fellow service members.

Beyond his military service, Bill was known for his kindness, generosity, and warm smile—a smile that could light up any room. He was a man of quiet strength, always ready to lend a helping hand, and he had a way of making others feel valued and heard.

A gun collector and enthusiast, Bill found great joy in learning about the history of firearms and sharing his knowledge with others. His love for collecting was a hobby and a lifelong pursuit that brought him deep fulfillment and connection with his youth and military background.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores Agnus Tortorich; his parents, Vincent and Virginia (Winard) Tortorich; and his sister, Patricia Tortorich. He is survived by his first cousin, Jerry Winard, and second cousin, Linda Kaiser, along with many friends who will cherish his memory.

A service to honor Bill's life will be held on March 5, 2025, at Miramar National Cemetery 5795 Nobel Dr., San Diego, California at 11:15 AM.

Bill's legacy of kindness, service, and friendship will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
