Obituary

Her life embodied the soundtrack of the '80s. Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, the B-52s, the Go-Go's, Billy idol, Queen, David Bowie. As long as her health permitted, Yvette Endres Bryant and her beloved husband Tommy Bryant followed their favorite bands through venues large and small. No dive bar was too small; no stadium was too big. No concert was really "sold out." Somebody outside always had a spare ticket. No concert or college football game was too far away.
When her health faltered, thanks to Facebook and Instagram, she rocked on through the eyes and ears of others. There was no turning out the lights. The music was never over for Yvette, 54, who passed away in her Poway home in the early morning hours of May 28, 2020. She died of natural causes.
Yvette and Tommy were married on August 7, 1991, in Palm Springs, CA. Yvette suffered and survived a brain aneurysm in 2011. Six months later, Yvette's brain surgery inspired the couple to renew their vows in a ceremony on the Torrey Pines beach in Del Mar. Tommy said he wanted Yvette to know he would always be by her side.
Yvette was born in North Hollywood on August 19, 1965. She was a proud Falcon 1983 graduate from Torrey Pines High School. She worked in the paint department at Home Depot, then went to culinary school, followed by a chef position in corporate dining management.
Because of her son, Matthew, who has hemophilia, Yvette became an active advocate for the hemophilia community.  She was a board member and vice president for the Hemophilia Association of San Diego, and worked with the Hemophilia Association of Southern California. Yvette also helped run the annual California Coastal Race for Hemophilia, a fundraising cycling event.
In her spare time, Yvette cultivated a number of friends from her visits to the now-relocated Player's Sports Grill on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in San Diego, where her enthusiasm for University of Southern California sports teams and infectious laugh earned her legendary status from the restaurant's staff and regulars. Her friends call Yvette the "life of the party" and "a ray of sunshine," and are convinced that she's still cracking jokes in a better, peaceful place.
Yvette was preceded in death by her parents. Larry and Mary Endres. Survivors include her husband, Tommy Bryant, a teacher at Otay Ranch High School; daughter Victoria Bryant of Eureka, CA; sons Michael Bryant of Moscow, Russia, and Matthew Bryant of Poway; and a brother, Sean Endres of Gilbert, AZ.
